Connect with the JLJ Community
Become a part of the JLJ Elementary community by joining our PTA secure, private GroupMe channels. Specific channels available for PTA members and PTA committees, helping with Grade-level and school-wide announcements.
Please note that you must be a PTA member to be on the committee, but do not have to be a PTA member to volunteer at any of our events. All volunteers on campus must be approved through RRISD, which requires a background check to ensure our students' safety.
JLJ PTA is active across the school campus and no contribution is too large or small. Here are just a few opportunities to help our school community:

JLJ PTA is part of the wider Texas PTA and we are proud to share discounted access and benefits to PTA members including savings on visits to Great Wolf Lodge, Dr. Homework, Avis, 1-800-Flowers and more. Membership is required to access these benefits.
Committees and Contributions
We have a wide range of commitees dedicated to helping our campus. Parent and community volunteers share their abilities and time as they are able. Not contribution is too small!
Events

Needs are usually after hours and for the day of the event
Planning and coordinating as well as event volunteer shifts
Fundraising
Help run and support a Fall fundraiser
Help run and support a Spring fundraiser
Quarterly Spirit Night communication and promotion
Grade Level Liaisons
Help plan and coordinate two (2) grade level parties (Winter and End of Year)
Volunteer for field trips
Individual work to support your child's classroom and teacher
Library
Reading and learning is foundational to elementary education
Supports our librarian with projects and book fairs/events
Reshelves and helps students with book check in
Staff Appreciation
Show our thankfulness to staff
Plan, set up, and coordinate events and gifts that show our gratitude

Tasks 4 Teachers (T4T)
Help with workroom type tasks for teachers
Volunteers serve on-site in the school copy room OR by taking cutting/sorting tasks home
